TX Price Action (Free TradingView Indicator)

A free TradingView indicator that maps market structure and liquidity so you can identify premium/discount entries with clear risk/reward visualization.

  • Marks BOS (Break-of-Structure) + swing structure automatically
  • Flags liquidity sweeps / inducement levels across multiple timeframes
  • Draws execution zones + Fibonacci retracement zones with real-time TP/SL boxes

Who it's for:

  • Intraday and swing futures traders who want objective structure mapping
  • Traders who need clear premium/discount context for entry timing

Not ideal for:

  • Scalpers who need tick-by-tick signals (this focuses on structure, not micro-entries)
  • Traders who want fully automated trade execution (this is visual analysis only)

What you get on the chart

  • BOS lines: Permanent structural break lines that mark trend changes (configurable strict/non-strict validation)
  • Inducement levels: Minor (current day), medium (previous day), and major (weekly) highs/lows that become permanent lines after sweeps
  • Execution zones: Fibonacci- and POI-based retracement zones with configurable frequency (High/Medium/Low)
  • Risk/reward boxes: Real-time TP/SL visualization that updates tick-by-tick until completion
  • Fractal structure: Background swing engine that defines objective structure (all visuals derive from this single model)
  • Asian session profiling: Dynamic liquidity range that anchors the QuickStrikes filter

How to use it

Best timeframes

Works best on 5m, 15m, and 1h charts for intraday trading. For swing setups, use 4h or daily.

Best markets

Optimized for ES (E-mini S&P 500), NQ (Nasdaq), CL (Crude Oil), GC (Gold), and YM (Dow). Works on any futures contract with sufficient liquidity.

Default workflow

  1. Add indicator to chart and let it build structure (wait 20-50 candles for initial setup)
  2. Watch for BOS confirmation after liquidity sweeps (inducement levels)
  3. Enter on retracement to execution zones (Fibonacci/POI zones)
  4. Use risk/reward boxes to manage position (TP/SL update in real time)
  5. Stay flat when QuickStrikes filter blocks setups (Asian session context)

Common mistakes

  • Entering before BOS confirmation (wait for structure break, not just a sweep)
  • Ignoring the QuickStrikes filter (if it blocks, there's a reason—stay flat)
  • Using on very low timeframes (1m/2m) where structure is too noisy
  • Not waiting for execution zones—entering on first BOS signal instead of retracement

Settings guide

Swing sensitivity

Controls how aggressively the fractal engine identifies swing points. Higher = more structure lines, lower = only major swings. Default: Medium.

BOS confirmation

Strict mode requires price to close beyond the swing point. Non-strict allows wicks. Strict = fewer false signals, non-strict = earlier entries. Default: Strict.

Sweep threshold

How far price must move beyond inducement levels to "sweep" them. Lower = more sweeps detected, higher = only major liquidity events. Default: 2 ticks.

Session filter (QuickStrikes)

Requires BOS/entries to sit in specific relation to Asian session highs/lows. Enabled = higher quality but fewer signals. Default: Enabled.

Zone frequency

High = many retracement zones, Medium = balanced, Low = only major zones. Default: Medium.

Examples

Example: BOS after sweep

Example showing BOS detection after liquidity sweep on ES futures chart

Price sweeps previous day high (inducement level), then breaks structure. BOS line confirms trend change. Entry zone appears on retracement. Risk/reward box shows 1:2.5 ratio.

Example: Range day = no-trade filter

Example showing QuickStrikes filter blocking trades during range-bound conditions

Asian session range is tight, and price hasn't meaningfully swept any inducement levels. QuickStrikes filter blocks setups—indicator correctly identifies this as a "stay flat" scenario.

Example: Multi-timeframe structure

Example showing fractal structure across multiple timeframes with BOS and inducement levels

Fractal engine identifies structure on 15m, then projects onto 1h. Weekly high (major inducement) gets swept, promoting it to permanent line. All elements align—high-probability setup.

Limitations / what it's NOT

When it works: Trending markets with clear structure, after liquidity sweeps, during liquid hours (NY session), when QuickStrikes filter aligns.

When it fails: Choppy/range-bound markets without structure, during low liquidity (overnight Asia), when multiple timeframes conflict, during news events that break structure.

What it doesn't claim: No "guaranteed edge" or "100% win rate." This is a visual framework—you still need risk management, position sizing, and discipline. It doesn't execute trades automatically.

Repainting: The fractal structure and BOS detection use non-repainting logic (once confirmed, they stay fixed). However, execution zones and risk boxes update in real time as price moves—this is intentional for live trade management.

Why we built this

Most market structure indicators either show too much (cluttered charts) or too little (missing context). TX Price Action solves this by deriving everything from a single fractal model—so BOS lines, inducement levels, and execution zones never contradict each other.

We added the Asian session profiling because most traders ignore overnight liquidity, then wonder why their NY session setups fail. The QuickStrikes filter forces you to start from objective liquidity events, not guesswork.

Best paired with: Regime Detection (for trend context) or Tom's Reversal Strategy (for intraday bias).

FAQ

What makes TX Price Action different from other structure indicators?

It runs a fractal-based swing engine that defines objective structure, then derives all visual elements from that single model—ensuring nothing on the chart is contradictory. The Asian-session profiling and QuickStrikes filter add an extra layer of precision to entry selection.

How can I use this indicator with my trading strategy?

The indicator works well for both intraday and swing traders. You can use the BOS signals, inducement levels, and Fibonacci retracement zones to identify premium/discount entries with clear risk/reward visualization. Wait for structure confirmation, then enter on retracements to execution zones.

Does the indicator repaint?

The fractal-based structure detection uses non-repainting logic. Once BOS events are confirmed and inducement levels are swept, they remain fixed on the chart for accurate historical visualization. Execution zones and risk boxes update in real time (this is intentional for live trade management).

What markets and timeframes work best?

Optimized for ES, NQ, CL, GC, and YM futures. Works best on 5m, 15m, and 1h for intraday, or 4h/daily for swing setups. Avoid very low timeframes (1m/2m) where structure is too noisy.
